Teaching Artist

Rossana is a teaching artist, living in Sonoma County for the last 5 years. She has worked across many mediums including illustration, painting, textiles, and printmaking, but clay has been her biggest and most connected passion. She discovered her love of teaching art in the last couple of years and now leads art classes in partnership with several organizations and studios. She loves teaching adults technical art practices that will allow them to explore every creative inspiration they have. Her own latest creative exploration is metalsmithing and jewelry making, which has inspired her to include mixed materials (including metal) in her ceramic work.

She studied Studio Art and Business at the University of California Santa Cruz, followed by a technical AA in Fashion Design to prepare her for a 10 year career in that field. She lived in London, England for over 7 years, where she worked in this industry. Her most fulfilling role was designing handbags and belts for men's & women's brands, sold worldwide. She enjoys hikes out in nature and is constantly inspired by the landscape of Northern California in her art making, as well as the deep self-reflection and growth that she is guided by.

A fun fact about Rossana is that she is currently working on a home project to build a deck and an outdoor tub under the redwoods, complete with twinkly lights and magic.
